Summer Academic Enrichment
Four weeks that change the fall
The Summer Academic Enrichment Program strengthens skills in reading, writing, and mathematics in classes of six to eight students, with a personalized program built around what each child needs most.
Students possess a range of skills and abilities and achieve mastery at different rates. The summer program gives each learner the specific support they need, whether that means closing a gap before the next school year, building confidence in a subject that has been hard, or shining in an area of strength. The program is explicit, intensive, and multi-sensory, and it's open to Killian Oaks students and to students from other schools.

- Full day8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., $3,350 for four weeks or $850 per week
- Mornings8:30 a.m. to noon, $2,680 for four weeks or $670 per week
- After care2:30 to 4:00 p.m., $15 per day
- FeesRegistration $250, materials $150. All fees, including tuition, are non-refundable and non-transferable.
What we teach
Reading
Our Orton-Gillingham based program enhances phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and comprehension through multiple strategies. The approach is multi-sensory, phonetic, and sequential, targeting the areas that need development through explicit instruction. Within a small setting, students begin to flourish as readers.
Writing and language
The writing process, spelling, and grammar, with penmanship reinforced. Students develop creative, narrative, and descriptive writing through the key traits of writing and the steps from brainstorming to publishing, beginning with a well-written sentence and building from there.
Mathematics
Reviewing, building, and enhancing each student's skills in sequence, with the areas that need reinforcement identified and taught directly.
